In this webinar on March 23, 2022, Dr. Tara Elton-Marshall presented results from a CIHR and CCSA funded grant examining the impacts of cannabis legalization on cannabis consumption and cannabis-related harms among adults in Ontario. Dr. Sameer Imtiaz presented results from a CCSA funded project examining the impacts of cannabis legalization on alcohol consumption and alcohol-related harms among adults in Ontario.

Learning objectives

By the end of this webinar you will be able to:

  1. Examine the impacts of recreational cannabis legalization on cannabis consumption and cannabis-related harms among adults in Ontario, including cannabis use, daily cannabis use and cannabis-related problems.
  2. Examine the impacts of recreational cannabis legalization on alcohol consumption and alcohol-related harms among adults in Ontario, including binge drinking, hazardous drinking, concurrent alcohol and cannabis use and simultaneous alcohol and cannabis use.
  3. Discuss implications of these findings for policy and practice.
